Questions
How long does a Christmas pet portrait take?
Portraits are generated in under 60 seconds. Upload a photo, choose a scene like By the Fire or Christmas Jumper, and the AI paints your portrait almost instantly.
Can I use it as an actual Christmas card?
Yes. The download is high resolution with no watermark, so it prints well as a card, and the portrait format also suits a framed print.
Which scene should I choose?
By the Fire and Under the Tree are the most traditional. Christmas Jumper is the most fun and the most card-like. Snowy Window is quiet and gentle. Village Walk suits dogs that like a winter walk.
When should I order for Christmas?
Digital downloads arrive in under a minute, so there is no deadline. For prints, order by mid-December to be sure of UK delivery before Christmas.
About the Christmas style
The painted Christmas card is a Victorian invention: the first was commissioned in London in 1843, and by the middle of the twentieth century the form had settled into the look we still recognise. Flat glowing colour, warm lamplight set against cold blue snow, a scene of home viewed from just outside it. Cards were painted in gouache and printed slightly soft, which is much of their charm.
Animals have always belonged in those scenes. A pet by the fire or under the tree is the part of Christmas people actually remember, and a card portrait works as a keepsake long after the season, which is why so many are framed rather than thrown away in January.
PetMax's AI paints your pet into these scenes in that mid-century card style, keeping their markings and colouring faithful to your photo. Each style changes the setting, from a lit hearth to a snowy village lane, and every portrait is produced at a resolution suitable for printing as a card or framing.
